Bidirectional dry friction energy dissipater using layers

Many studies have been carried out to determine the performance of energy dissipators proposed by different authors, mainly analyzing hysteretic loops loading and unloading. Likewise, authors sought simple, easy manufacture economical designs. Based on above, analysis a passive bidirectional dry friction dissipator system is presented, whose main characteristic implementation layer elements as structure, besides not requiring bolts or springs for application preload. The study means numerical modeling using finite element software Abaqus. dissipation presented hysteresis cycles, types preload number stacked elements. device, one analyzed configurations, presents capacity dissipate 52 J energy, being an innovative functional design.
